The proof copy verso lacks information on poetry, graphics, typography, and printing contacts as on the distributed copy. On the verso of this pamphlet, Furnival writes, "Rough proof of propectus for OPENINGS PRESS, founded in 1964 by John Furnival + dom Silvester Houedard." They define this venture as follows. The drawing and its frame have an octogonal shape. The labyrinth was taken from Furnival's illustrated book, "Blind Date." The words "Parole, Parabole and Parabolique" are written run-on and in some places on top of the original words in the passages of the labyrinth as viewed from above. This black and white print has mathematical symbols, magic squares and words in which one or more of the stylized letters are printed in reverse, upside down. The central image depicts a 4 x 4 grid of numbers, letters and symbols. This is surrounded by a rectangular border of words, suggestive of Saturn's ring (?) that include "Yahweh, Demon, Sazel, Aziel, Spirit, Saturn, Planet." This depicts an image of Xmas Star, a fishing boat, with a listing of its Port Letters, Fishing Numbers, Radio Call Sign, Net Tonnage, and Gross Tonnage. With the exception of the name Xmas Star printed in red, the remainder of the image is printed in black. In this unique version, the image is printed on much heavier stock paper than the original print.
