In this collection documents the Sylvia Lesser Chary and Philip Chary and their thirteen European trips. The thirteen travel diaries were written by Sylvia between 1952-1969 and record in great detail their experiences on ocean liners, trains, hotels, restaurants, and the sights they saw, the people they met, and other things they observed or experienced during the course of their extensive travels in Europe during this period. They only traveled to Europe by ocean liner and never by plane because Sylvia had an eye condition that led her physicians to tell her not to fly on planes.
