The materials in this series consist of carbon copies of orders sent by railroad administrators and personnel to individual stations or trains. These orders deal with individual day-to-day railroad operations, such as reporting on train or track conditions, providing needed information on stations, ordering changes in routes or tracks, or simply responding to current conditions (i.e. ordering a reduction in speed due to poor track conditions along a certain stretch of a route). Orders contain information such as: order number, date and time of order issuance, addressee and addressee's location, and the text of the order itself.
