Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Gustave Von Groschwitz papers include WPA exhibition catalogs of art exhibits he curated in New York during 1937 and 1938, as well as programs of exhibits he curated at the Cincinnati Art Museum 1948-1960.

His published article on artist Thomas Shotter Boys, with final draft, are included, as well as his M. A. thesis. Numerous articles by Von Groschwitz include Making Prints for the U. S. Government, published in Prints, vol. VI: No. 3 (February 1936) and Graphic Art of the Argentine in The Print Collectors Quarterly Vol. 27: No. 3 (October 1940).

His grant proposals to support Mauricio Lasansky are housed in this collection, as well as notes by Lasansky.

This collection also includes correspondence from Von Groschwitz to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris during 1961.
