Biographical / Historical

Jeffrey L. Cox (1947-2020), Ph.D., was professor of history at the University of Iowa from 1978 until his death at age 72. He was a historian of Britain and religion, and published four books and nearly 20 articles over the course of his career. He was also a political activist, serving as chair of the Johnson County Democratic Party and co-editor of The Prairie Progressive. He endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders for the 2016 presidential election, leading the Iowa caucus effort on his behalf.
