Scope and Contents
The Michaud Family papers date from 1923 to 2009 and measure 0.50 linear inches. Joseph Michaud, a long-time Iowa City resident and local author, donated the family records. The papers comprise of materials associated with the family's education, work, and religious backgrounds including reunion programs from Clarion High School (Clarion, Iowa) and Lyle Community High School (Lyle, Minnesota), a sports history of Lyle Community High School, a historical account of Mona Lutheran Church (Mona, Iowa), a yearbook from The St. Olaf Lutheran Hospital Training School for Nurses (Austin, Minnesota), and several newsletters from Iowa Training School for Boys (Eldora, Iowa) where Joseph Michaud's mother worked. The papers also include two published works by Joseph Michaud: "Along the Iron Curtain" and "Booking in Iowa: The Book Trade In and Around Iowa City, a Look Back." The papers additionally include a letter and certificate of appreciation from President Ronald Reagan to Mr. Wentworth E. Palm.
