Scope and Contents
The Helen Berry papers date from 1930 to 1960 and measure 5.42 feet (13 boxes). The Helen Berry papers are arranged in two series: correspondence and diaries. The bulk of the collection is correspondence between Berry and her parents. The Correspondence series (1934 – 1993) is mainly made up of correspondence between Berry and her parents. It also includes Joe Berry’s notes on the letters, correspondence between Berry and her brother, information and grades sent from Parsons College to her parents, and condolences sent to her parents following her death. The Diaries series (1930 – 1935) contains three journals from Berry’s teenage years. This series covers topics such as Berry’s school years and the beginnings of her relationship with her husband, Burl.
