The Biographical series (1947-2002) holds materials relating to Boelter Riggs’ early life, including a book detailing her first seven years made by her mother, Eileen Boelter. The series includes photographs.

The Education series (1963-2015) relates to Boelter Riggs’ time in school at Jefferson High School in Independence, Iowa and the University of Iowa. The Journals series (1961-2001) holds journals kept by Jane Ann Boelter Riggs through most of her adult life and detail her day-to-day experiences. This includes candid discussion of her relationship with food, her body, and her mental health.
