Scope and Contents

Graham-Dixon concludes his unfavorable review of Phillips' exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in London November 1992, viz., "Phillips is a fine writer (if anyone doubts this, they should read his translation of Dante's Inferno) who has got the idea into his head that he has some talent for painting. His tragedy is that of a man who has, quite unaccountably, mistaken his vocation." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
