This page depicts a mottled gray vertical rectangle in its center that floats in indistinct swirls of brown and greenish-blue colors, almost Cezannesque in appearance. The gray rectangle might abstractly represent near-death with the hope of aversion as evidenced by the lines of the poem. "ill, ill, ill, Herr doctor, ill, ill - it is nothing; but I'll send you a sound sleep; and a letter, and, if necessary, add a dream of thoughts in fancy dress - the situation shivered, gradually."
