Scope and Contents
This is an allegorical painting that depicts an image of the Polish knights of old in their glorious reign with a large capital letter 'Y.' The Y means why? The painting signifies the downfall of the glory of Poland that has been replaced by the Communist state. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
