Scope and Contents

This eightieth page is titled "Stirrings Still." In the upper center of the page Phillips writes "Slight mumblings all the time & the off twitch of a body not quite dead and ever the odd feeling that the patient might almost rally round: then slump into torpor! I think the body has been in a coma for so long it can only survive as a vegetable even if it is resuscitated. Most recently a fax and even a phone call from Rainer Moritz........He wants a breakdown of proportion of Gielgud to camera (& Peck) for no doubt some devious contractual reason (since he asks for a copy of my contract with Kees/BVDante) which I have faxed to Algon Wood...N. Carolina solicits a return visit." On the bottom of the page Phillips writes "Meanwhile my TV nose points me in the direction of the Ring of the Niebeling....Proposals, proposals, proposals". Collaged papers on this page consist of a title sheet of "A Concordance to the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, A small gauche painting by Phillips titled Zeitgeist, a partial printed envelope featuring a message from Hell, and an advertisement for a car caravan. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
