Scope and Contents
Includes a calligraphic drawing on the Labyrinth, Abracadabra, and Rimbaud's "Vowel's" by Furnival that extends over 3 pages. The optical typewriter poem was done by Charles Cameron in 1966. The micrographic, collaged drawing was made by Peter James. Two pages consist of Houedard works, viz., shaped typewriter poem undated, pop-up typewriter poem undated, 2 typewriter poems undated and 3 typewriter poems dated 140164, 091263, 190964; also, ink drawing 090663 and photograph. Also, includes two ink drawings (1954) and two typewriter poems (1981) by Houedard. Contains a proof copy of Stampart 1, Coracle (1977) and a colored print from Furnival's Erik Satie (1976) by Ron King. Also, includes print (lauter) and sound poem, (hosi + anna, Verlag Klaus Wagenbach, 1971) by Jandl, shaped ink poem by Birney, ink drawing by Hansjorg Mayer, concrete poem with colored text by Emmett Williams, a watercolor spanning 2 pages by Samuel Buri, ink drawing by Nuttall, and typing by Wheatley. It also includes a woodcut monoprint by Gette, a handwritten and printed poem and drawing by Seuphor. There is a visual poetic drawing by Tom Phillips, "Aves Raris" (1967) in addition to 4 cards and 3 prints collaged onto the pages. A shaped Eiffel tower poem with text on Furnival's birthday was done by unidentified friends (Gary & Stuart). Includes a unique typewriter poem by Henri Chopin entitled, Nihil 1966. Brian Lane contributed four signed cards. There is a Lettrist ink drawing by Roberto Altmann with a comic strip character. Jenny Couworth contributes a ink colored drawing of the "Treiffel Tower" using names of food elements. Includes a colored abstract print by Stanley Hayter signed (1979), 3 exhibition announcement cards for Furnival, a signed handwritten poem by Pierre Albert-Birot (1967) and one by Rotello (1966). Includes newspaper clippings about Finlay's disputes with tax collectors and a unique Finlay collage with fishing net and French text. Scheuffelin contributes a calligraphic shaped poem on a "long snake" (1967). The work includes 7 cards by Tom and Laurie Clark, a watercolor of a tree by Ian Gardner, and a concrete poem by Robert Adrian. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
