The pages are white heavy stock paper and the binding is blue suede leather.The handwriting was done with white paint mixed with glue to create an appearance of letters in relief in white paper stock. The writing consists of indecipherible calligraphic markings with a consistent style throughout the book. The Sackner Archive also holds book created by Algardi in 1983 utilizing similar calligraphic markings made with black ink, pigment and graphite on black colored paper, entitled "Imagine della Scrittura." The latter has a variety of calligraphic styles whereas the current book has a consistent style. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
