A portion of the inked Syriaque letters are overpainted in white that either obliterates some letters or covers them in a veil of paint. In addition, fine red lines are painted across the entire surface in patterns of triangles, horizontal lines or parallel arcs. The source text is Update Proceedings, a symposium, held by Key Pharmaceuticals on their respiratory drug, "Theodur." One of three copies, all slightly different, were commissioned by Sackner. The other two were given as gifts to officers of the company. The book was first published in England in 1973 with the title, "Christie Malry's Own Double Entry."
