Scope and Contents This book was published both by Arcana Editions and Underwhich Editions and they appear to be identical. The first page begins with the sentence, "I am all that is all that has been all that shall be and none may lift my veil." With each successive page, Chaldean letters are substituted for the English text until by the last page, the sentence is printed completely in the "Chaldean" language. This book is an excellent example of experiental calligraphy.Using a WEB search, the following information about Chaldeans was gleaned. The name Chaldean (pronounces Kal-de'an) stems from one of the ancient groups which inhabited the land presently known as Iraq. In ancient times this area was called Mesopotamia, 'the land between two rivers.' An advanced civilization flourished in this region long before that of Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Many tribes desired this Fertile Crescent. Since the time of the Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, and Chaldeans, it has been a land of many firsts and...
