The poem "Manifest" depicts the letters as arranged on a typewriter key board (with the y and z reversed!). The poem Abeceda z Odyssea, composed such that the last letter of the final word forms an alphabetical text, is triangularly shaped. Der Heizer (The Boilerman) consists of sound poetry, numbers, and patterns. Schmidt writes, "On the overall square of this print each of the four units used has its own corners. Each unit is most dense in its own corner and the probability of its appearance decreases with the distance from that corner...The print was realized in 1967 using an arithmetical programme which approximates to the idea and hand set in 10 pt letterpress border material. The shuffling of the units within the subsections used was done manually and is imperfect." The units consist of small rectangles which are solid black, have a heavy outline, have a light outline, and blank spaces. In his book, "Post/Face," Rothenberg writes that gematria is a form of traditional Jewish numerology using "the fact that every letter of the Hebrew alphabet is also a number, & that words or phrases, the sums of whose letters are equal are at some level meaningfully connected."
