These works were commissioned for "The Beauty In Breathing" exhibition. They depict a young, well-endowed nude model with a stylized figure of the lungs collaged over her chest. In a comic strip like bubble, the word, "Breathe" eminates from her mouth. One of these photographs was selected for an announcement card. Scope and Contents These two drawings are Gaard's riff on the Kabbalist "Tree of Life." The first drawing has the title written in the upper left hand corner and the second drawing Frank Gaard's signiture in the lower right hand corner. Exhibitied at Gaard's retrospective at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN in 2012. The frames were made by the museum. The bottom half is the same scene rendered in the repeated words brisa (breeze), abatido (downcast), abismo (abyss), abajo (under), barato (cheap), alejar (move away) - themes related to suicide. The smoke from the fire consists of a political address in 1993 set in bold type by Helmut Kohl, the leader of Germany dealing with solving the world's problems with money.
