Hoofdletters are discussed in Eye Vol.12 No.47. This book contains the supplement published in 1960. The basic premise of the printing process advocated in this book is to save paper. This is accomplished by using solely capital letters, decreasing type size for punctuation marks, decreasing type size and space between lines, inverting alternating lines of text for reading upon reversing top and bottom of page and using overprinting in colors that can be filtered out with colored eyeglasses. The ease of reading is promoted on the compact pages by means of acetate pages with white silkscreened bars to enable viewing in the clear areas only. Several examples are provided in this book. In addition, the printing methods are used to reduce the pages in Jules Verne's Dr. Ox. One booklet has the usual uppercase and lowercase letters, the other two examples of the new printing methods. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
