This work appears to be a preparatory sketch for a sculpture. It is formed from typed dashes and @ characters. This work was exhibited in Force Fields: phrases of the kinetic held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona in 1999 and the Hayward Gallery London in 2000. The artist composed the work on an Olympia Splendid 99. In a personal communication to Marvin Sackner in 2013, Mott stated that his typewritings were influenced by Margaret, his first wife's (died in 1990) weavings plus reading on knots, quipu, etc and not by the reading of Monk's Pond that he was unaware of until the 1980s. He further mentioned that he employed "various degrees of pressure to give variations and life to the work." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Houedard writes that it was a pleasure to see the Sharkeys. He discusses the public's conception of monks and their sexual orientation. He also advises John to get in touch with Andrew Rawlisnon and Robert Tait and mentions that John Furnival has been busy making harmonograph machines. The French title is "En-haut et en-bas" or "Top and Bottom,"or "High and Low." Each page is a print of Kolar's typogrammes from the 1960's. The pages are cut so that a portion of typing from the following pages become an important part of the composition. Kolar created new configurations with the typewriter that were known as "creations plastiques." Nancy Adler is the widow of Tony Howard. who died in 2001.Anthony Howard, music agent: born London 12 June 1939; married 1975 Nancy Adler (two sons, one daughter); died London 26 November 2001.Tony Howard may be a footnote in the musical history of the Sixties and Seventies but, without him, much of the best live music of that era would never have made it to the stage. From 1965 into the early Seventies, first Blaises and then the Speakeasy were the clubs where musicians and scene-makers gathered night after night. Howard's imaginative programming brought them an eclectic mix of the best domestic and imported acts, including the Byrds, Joni Mitchell, Ike and Tina Turner, and Vanilla Fudge. It was Howard who, on one legendary occasion, let an unknown American guitarist named Jimi Hendrix sit in with the Brian Auger Trinity. Inspired by his uncle Eddie Calvert, the bandleader, Howard's Hackney childhood was filled with jazz. By the early Sixties...
