Portrait Pulmonaire, 1975
de Charmoy's rubberstamped image of the shape of human lungs surrounding a colored photographic reproduction of a laboratory heart-lung preparation, was created by repetitively overstamping with red inked, leaf and flower images. They serve as a visual metaphor of breathing in the animal and plant kingdoms. The realistic image of the isolated heart-lung laboratory preparation provides a sharp contrast to the delicate appearance of the rubberstamped lungs. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
[Self Portrait in Collaged Dress], 1964
This print depicts a frontal portrait of Cozette De Charmoy standing behind a collaged dress. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
