General
Jaycees Work at Swimming Pool; Members of the Washington High School Future Farmers of America Chapter recently tried out the chapter's new steam cleaner. Chapter advisor and vocational agriculture instructor Verne Knecht said the chapter and chapter members bought the steam cleaning machine to be used for cleaning barns, hog houses, and farm machinery. The picture was taken as chapter members took a field trip to the Wilbur Schantz farm recently where they used the machine on a cement barn floor for demonstration purposes and to enable the students themselves to learn the operation of the cleaner. The boys are, left to right, Ralph Roberts, Justin McCarthy, Bill Witthoft, and Glen Schantz. Ralph Roberts is operating the aozzle which shoots out steam under pressure as Witthoft and Schantz pour soap into a container in the machine which mixes it with the steam to step-up the cleaning power. The local chapter intends to rent out the cleaner to area farmers as a chapter project.; Army Reserve Building 213 N Marion
