Words and images printed in phosphorescent ink glow in the dark with the ultraviolet lamp. The story relates to the falling of the sky from hydrocarbon to waste. The earth is burned and most of the people channel up through the jagged holes. Bucko, a dyslexic nomad, one of the few people left, comes out at night and collects part of the sky. The book consists of reproductions of several poems, composed by repetitively rubberstamping words and images, reflecting hazards to the environment. Also, includes several poems on topics related to breathing, viz. the words "scream and gotta sing" appear on one page with an image of a mouth and a face opposite to another page with the words "acid rain and gotta dance" with an image of two dogs dancing as metaphors for our lack of concern with a clean environment. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

In the colophon, Gallo mentions that the production of this book was made possible in part due to a grant from the Sackner Archive. The binding was done by Daniel Kelm. Each page has a single poem that was printed letterpress or from plates generated thru Alphatype or Postscript applications. Hulls (1) consists of 43 leaves of intersperced single names of fishing boats, one to a page, with varied numbers of colored paper stock signifying the colors on their hulls.
