From the Collection:

The Marjorie McNeil Huey papers date from 1870 to 1962 and measure 10 linear inches. The papers comprise eleven diaries and associated family papers of Marjorie Huey, Scott McNeil (Marjorie Huey's father), and Forrest Huey (Marjorie Huey's spouse). Most of the bound diaries span one calendar year and document Huey's daily activities, tasks, and noteworthy events. The associated family papers contain correspondence and personal belongings including an agricultural almanac, a cookbook, prayer cards, a farming notebook belonging to Marjorie Huey and her father, and three children's magazines. The collection also includes materials reflecting rural education in Iowa with Marjorie Huey's teacher's contract, Scott McNeil's second grade certificate, and Forrest Huey's examination for entrance to high school. Biographical notes documenting Marjorie Huey's life and family are also included.
