Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Jun-Nicole Matsushita papers date from 1999 to 2012 and measure 10 linear inches in 2 boxes. The records are arranged in three series: North American Society for Sports History (1999-2004), Help Us Give Slings (2005-2012), and University of Iowa (1999-2007). The North American Society for Sports History series (1999-2004) contains historical research papers on women in sports Matsushita wrote and published through the North American Society for Sports History (NASSH). Correspondence with NASSH and NASSH pamphlets, along with Matsushita’s notebooks, are also included. The Help Us Give Slings series (2005-2012) includes promotional materials, budget papers, correspondence, and news articles for the organization Help Us Give Slings (HUGS). Matsushita started HUGS in response to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami and was able to donate over 3,000 slings to mothers affected by natural disasters.
