Scope and Contents
This book was written and designed by the Scripps College typography class under the direction of Kitty Maryatt. The project was to make "Chinese" (in this case Western) spirit papers from handmade paper with the students adding elements to the pulp as a way to insert small poignant messages each wrote for this project. Chinese spirit papers were burned in ceremonies to honor ancestors. Several examples of handmade paper were used throughout the book. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
