There are 28 shaped poems in this book that was printed from a manuscript in which the calligraphers who did the writing were supervised by Maurus. Three copies of this manuscript were made. A facsimile of one of them is held by the Sackner Archive and the images in the book are not identical to the manuscript in all instances. The black letters were made with lead type and the red letters with woodcut type. Two pages that depict a pattern poem of Christ on the Cross as well as another poem with a figure are missing from the book. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
