There are 28 shaped poems in this book that was adapted from a manuscript in which the calligraphers who did the writing were supervised by Maurus. Three copies of this manuscript were made. A facsimile of one of them is held by the Sackner Archive a in the images from the manuscript in some of them. The black letters were made with lead type and the red letters with woodcut type.
