Contains materials about the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), both in favor and against the amendment. Highlights of the anti-ERA materials include a copy of the Phyllis Schlafly Report (June 1973), John Schmitz's essay "Look Out! They're Planning to Draft Your Daughter," and several anti-ERA pamphlets published by the conservative newspaper the Independent American. Some of these materials appear to be the copies that circulated in the Iowa Senate, as they are marked with an "Approved for Distribution" stamp with a name line; several anti-ERA materials are marked "Sen. E. Hill" (Eugene Hill was the only legislator to vote against Iowa's ratification of the ERA in 1972; he also called for recission of Iowa's ratification in 1975), while some pro-ERA materials are marked "Sen. Doderer" (Minnette Doderer was one of the co-sponsors of the 1972 ratification bill in the Iowa Senate).
